Analogical output : +/- 5 Volt
The black socket reaches 0 Volt
– 5 V on the yellow socket corresponds to zero in the range of measurement
+ 5 V on the yellow socket corresponds to the maximal value of the range of
measurement
Power : 2 alkaline LR6 batteries or 12 V plug (not delivered)
11 Influence of the temperature
Measurements using the probe are not strongly influenced by the
temperature.
For example, if the probe, placed in air measures 20 %at 20 °C, it will
measure 20 % at 10 °C and 21 % at 30 °C.
11.1 Measurements in air
Hence the temperature is of little importance on measurements in air.
11.2 Measurements in water
As gas measuring systems (dissolved or free) measure the proportion of gas
in relation to what the medium could contain, it is important to take account
of how the solubility of dioxygen in water varies.
The chemistry of water indicates that the solubility of oxygen in water
depends notably on the temperature (for example, water at 25 °C, in
equilibrium with air can contain 8 mg/L of dioxygen whereas the same water
at 10 °C can contain 11 mg/L).
The Initio Air/ Water oximeter has a temperature probe and data on the
variable solubility of dioxygen in water. Thus calibration is greatly simplified
and is stored even if there is a variation in water temperature (e.g. if the
water is warmed by a light bulb).
