Control box lamp
is lit if unit is ready for work.
2
2-cycle/ 4-cycle rotary switch
to switch over from 2-cycle to 4-cycle operation.
2-cycle operation to carry our short weld seams and tack-welds.
The welding process runs as long as the torch trigger is kept pressed down.
4-cycle operation for long weld seams
The welding process is initiated upon the first press of torch-trigger and stopped
by second press of the same.
Both in 2-cycle and 4-cycle operation, there is a 1-second post flow of gas. If a
longer post flow is desired, this can be initiated during 4-cycle mode, after switch-off
(3rd cycle) by keeping the torch trigger pressed down as long as gas flow is
required. In case of erroneous actuation of torch trigger and/or no arc occurring,
automatic cut-off function will stop current flow, gas flow and wire feed function after
5 seconds.
3
Potentiometer control knob ‘wire feed rate’
For infinitely variable regulation of desired wire feed rate, ranging from 0.5 to 24 m/ min.
4
Key button ‘wire feed-in’
With the button pressed down, the wire feed motor runs at the wire feed rate set on the potentiometer.
This allows the wire to be fed through the hose pack without any current or gas flowing.
5
Potentiometer control-knob ‘wire creep-in speed’
for infinitely variable regulation of wire creep-in speed (wire soft start).
The wire creep-in function causes the wire to advance at reduced speed at the time of starting the
welding process. Only at the instance of arc ignition does the con trol system change over to the preset
wire feed rate. This ensures better ignition of the arc when starting the welding process.
The rotary type control knob serves to adjust the wire creep-in speed in proportion to the set wire feed
rate. If the control knob is turned clockwise to the stop (i.e. wire creep-in speed equals 100 % of set wire
feed rate), the wire creep-in function is inactive.
6
Potentiometer control knob ‘wire burnback’
for infinitely variable regulation of wire burn-back time at the end of the
welding operation.
Anticlockwise:
reduces wire burnback time, i.e. wire does not burn back as far. If burnback time is too
short, the wire end adheres to the solidified weld pool.
Clockwise:
increases wire burnback time, i.e. wire burns back towards the current contact tip.
Wire must not burn back into the current contact tip,
otherwise, it will burn into the tip.

Torch connecting socket

10
Cooling-water coupler sockets (Option)
For the connections of the waterhose of the torch hose pack. Forward flow: marked blue, return flow:
marked red.
