Engine will not start.

Engine is flooded.

Remove spark plug, then turn
the unit so the spark plug hole is
aimed at the ground.

Set the choke lever to “Run”
position and pull starter grip 10 to
15 times. This will clear excessive
fuel from the engine.

Remove any fuel from the
product.

Clean and reinstall the spark
plug.

Clean up any spilled fuel and
move at least 9 m away before
restarting.

Pull starter grip 3 times with the
choke lever at “Run” position.

If the engine does not start, set
the choke lever to “Full” choke
position and repeat the normal
starting procedure.

If the engine still fails to start,
repeat procedure with a new
spark plug.

Engine does not stop
when the On/Off
switch is off.

Electrical connection is
loose/unplugged.

Set the choke lever to “Full” choke
position to stop the engine.

Immediately stop using the
product.

Check that the electrical
connection at the bottom of the
trimmer is properly connected.

Contact a service dealer if the
problem persists.

Engine starts but will
not accelerate.

Not enough time given
for the engine to warm
up.

Allow the engine to completely
warm up.

If the engine does not accelerate
after 3 minutes, contact a service
dealer.

Engine starts but
will only run at high
