1) Use a 1.5 mm Allen wrench and remove the knob from
the solvent selection valve.
2) Remove the tubing between the solvent selection valve
and the pump head.
3) Loosen the screw at the bottom left on the front panel of
the valve unit then remove the solvent selection valve
from the pump head.
See Fig. 5.3
The entire needle can be removed when the purge valve knob
is turned in the counterclockwise direction.
See Figs. 5.3 and 5.4
Note: Be aware of the following points when removing the
pump head from the head mount flange:
(1) The pump head is divided into a delivery head
and a modifier head. Remove each head
separately.
(2) Pull the pump heads straight out and do not move
it up/down or left/right.
Use a small flathead screwdriver to remove the seals as shown
in Fig. 5.5.
Note: Pressing excessively on the plunger seal with the
screwdriver may scratch the inside surface of the seal
attachment hole.
Remove any residual seal material and any other contaminants
by rinsing the area with methanol and then wiping the area
(See Fig. 5.6).
Contamination or deposits on the plunger hasten deterioration
of the plunger seal. If the foreign matter cannot be easily
removed place some household cleanser without abrasive on a
gauze and rub the plungers to clean.
