Bevel Gear
1. Set bearing cone clearance:
IF tight, add shims to achieve proper fit; replace spacers if necessary.
IF loose, remove shims to achieve proper fit.
2. Backlash of bevel gears should be 0.003 to 0.007 inch.
3. Bevel side of retaining ring must be facing away from gear housing.
4. Use
Loctite 262
on hex nuts.
5. Pack all bearing cones and bearing cups with
Jarvis
1315
White Grease
when clearance adjustments are completed.
