Congratulations on the purchase of your new
JACOB JENSEN
TM
Barometer.
The Barometer is designed in Denmark by Jacob Jensen, whose products
have gained international recognition for their original, simple and classic
design. Jacob Jensen has received around 100 prizes from around the world
and has 19 products included in The Design Study Collection and The Design
Collection of The Museum of Modern Art in New York.
The
JACOB JENSEN
TM
Barometer is an electronic barometer that shows the
barometric pressure and a weather forecast. Weather forecast indication
shows Sunny, Slightly Cloudy, Cloudy and Rainy. The units of pressure mb/
hPa or inHg may be selected. The Barometer can either stand on its own or
it can be mounted directly on the wall using a

Mounting
Plate. The Barometer can also be mounted on a

Weather
Station Stand. The Barometer can either be mounted on its own or together
with one or more products from the

Weather Station
range.
Replacing the batteries
The unit uses 4 “AAA” size batteries. (The batteries are included and
already installed). When the “battery” symbol appears, follow these steps
to replace the exhausted batteries :
1. Open the battery cover on the back of the unit.
2. Install the batteries as indicated by the polarity symbols (+/-) marked
inside the battery compartment.
. Replace the battery cover.
Note: After replacing the batteries, the full display will appear for approx.
seconds, and then show the following:
a. Weather forecast shows Slightly Cloudy (indicated by a sun symbol and
clouds).
b. Barometric pressure shows the current reading.
The unit takes about 24 hours to accumulate the barometric pressure data.
Until this time has elapsed, the weather forecast symbols shown may not
reflect a valid weather forecast for your area.
How to read the weather forecast symbols
Your digital Barometer detects changes in barometric pressure and the
LCD displays the weather symbols which indicate the weather forecast for
the next 12-24 hours approx., for an area with a radius of approx. 0-50
kilometres.
Important
1. The reliability of a weather forecast based only on trends in pressure is
about 70-75 per cent and thus we cannot be held responsible for any
inconvenience caused by an inaccurate weather forecast.
2. The weather forecast symbols may not reflect the current weather
conditions. The symbols are indicating future weather conditions.
. A “Sunny” forecast for the night-time indicates fine clear weather.
4. Fog is not a weather condition related to air pressure and cannot be
forecasted.
About altitude setting
1. To obtain the local barometric pressure reading, the altitude setting must
be set to zero.
2. To obtain the barometric pressure reading at Sea Level, the altitude
setting must be set to the local altitude (maximum altitude for function :
2000 m.). This value, based on sea level, is actually used in weather charts
worldwide and is to be recommended.
