NO WHITE SMOKE

• Ensure there is sufficient mineral oil in the mineral oil

tank.

• Ensure the needle valve, seen on figure 10, is opened to

desired smoke thickness.

• Ensure engine is at max idle to produce the white

smoke.

• Check for 12 volts on the cartridge located under the

mineral oil tank.

• Check to make sure wires are not torn or connec ons

are not loose, electrical schema c is shown on page 20.

BELT REPLACEMENT

• If belt is worn and need to be replaced, Jackrabbit

replacement part number is 57851.

• Before star ng maintenance on belt, disconnect ground

and power wires on ba ery.

• The vacuum pump is si ng on a plate that is designed to

slide.  Loosen the bolts that fasten the pump to the floor

(do not remove completely).

• There is a length of all thread a ached to the plate the

pump rests on.  The two hex nuts on the all thread move

the pump.  To slide the pump to the le , loosen the nut on

the le  side and  ghten the nut on the right side.  As the

hex nut gets  ghtened on the right side, the pump should

start to slide to the le  (shown in figure 16).

FIGURE 16

• Once the pump is moved enough to the le , the belt

should be loose enough to remove.  Walk the belt off of

the sheave by prying it with a screw driver and turning the

sheave at the same  me.

• Once the belt is off the sheave, it can be removed.  The

new belt is ready to be installed.

• Once the new belt is set into place, slide the pump to

the right to  ghten the new belt.  This can be done by

loosening the hex nut on the right side and  ghtening the

hex nut on the le  side.  Con nue to slide the pump to the

right un l the belt has less than half inch of play, no play

in the belt is too  ght.  Another good rule of thumb is it

should be difficult to twist the belt half of a turn.

• Once the belt has the correct tension,  ghten both hex

nuts to lock the pump into place.

• Reconnect ground and power wires on ba ery.

• For further assistance or service, please contact

Jackrabbit.
