Step 8 : close the instrument
•
Carefully place the pressure housing back in its cradle (ID sticker on the pressure housing should be
facing up).
•
Carefully clean both conical internal sealing surface inside the pressure housing tube, using a soft
tissue or fabric and apply a fresh thin coat of silicon grease (RHODORSIL 33 or RHODORSIL 55
recommended).
•
Remove the old O’Ring from the lower end plate (integral with electronic package). Do not use any
sharp or cutting tool to do so. Sealing surface must be free from any scratch or damage.
•
Clean surfaces and apply a thin coat of silicon grease.
•
Install a new O’ring (IXSEA part preferred).
•
Insert the lower end plate in the tube; gently push on it so that it is fully inserted. Electronic board
should face upward.
•
Remove old O’ring from transducer end plate’s groove, clean surfaces and grease them, install a new
O’ring in place.
•
Approach the upper end plate from the instrument, insert the central strength member in its hole as
indicated on picture, gently push on the transducer head so that it is almost fully inserted in its pre-
locking position.
•
Connect the transducer to the electronic package using the brown three ways plug. Check it is securely
locked in position.
•
Firmly engage the end plate in its close position.
Note:
The central strength member is not aligned with end plate center. You may have to slightly
orientate the end plate so that its can be inserted in position.
•
Using the standard opening closing tool lock both end plate by screwing the lower end plate locking
screw until both end-plates are firmly held in place.
(Allen key size 10, maximum recommended screwing torque : 60Nm)
•
Reassemble the intermediate hook
