6. OPERATION
In this operational section, the pre-deployment, deployment and recovery procedures are described.
6.1 PRE-DEPLOYMENT
CHECKING
6.1.1 Preliminary
Before using the acoustic release for an operation, check the equipment configuration.
An acoustic release is identified by its address. A reference sheet (as-built) stipulates the implemented
electronic hardware configuration for each acoustic release complete with the equipment's reference.
It is advisable to test the acoustic release's main functions (interrogation, release, etc.) prior to using it in any
operational situation.
Place the active acoustic head of the remote control unit Transmitter close to the Acoustic Release acoustic
head.
The next sections go through the commands to be tested: RELEASE, PINGER ON, TELEMETRY and
SIMPLE RANGING.
If you use a TT301 remote control unit, please refer to the TT301 user manual.
6.1.2 Sending a Command with the TT801
Step Action
1.
Select the
TYPE (AR8)
of the instrument to be actuated using
SCROLL
key and confirm the selection
by pressing
ENTER
key.
2.
Select the
TRANSMIT TYPE
using
SCROLL
key, according to individual built sheet of the beacon and
confirm the selection by pressing
ENTER
key.
The type of transmission is normally
ARM + CMD
and
ARM + ARM only
when sending a SIMPLE
RANGING command.
3.
Type the hexadecimal
ARM
code, confirm with
ENTER
, then enter the hexadecimal command code
(2
nd
byte only) and confirm with
ENTER
.
4.
Indicate the type of command that will be sent to the instrument:
RELEASE, R PINGER, PINGER ON, TELEMETRY (DIAGNOSTIC), Other CMD
Selection is made with
SCROLL
key and confirmation with
ENTER
key.
The RECEIVE SETTINGS display opens according to the command type
