Maintenance and storage
CAUTION
Before any work on the machine itself, pull the mains plug.
Always keep the tool and the ventilation slots (if present)
•
cleaned. Regular cleaning and maintenance of the appliance
will ensure efficiency and prolong the life of your tool.
If the tool should fail despite the rigorous manufacturing
•
and testing procedures, the repair should be carried out by an
authorized IVT customer service.
Keep all nuts, bolts, and screws tight, to be sure the tool is in
•
safe working condition.
Replace worn or damaged parts for safety.
•
Use only original spare parts. Parts not produced by
•
manufacturer may cause poor fit and possible injury.
Store the tool in a dry room out of reach of kids and away
•
from any flammable material.
Never wet the device or spray water on it!
•
Cleaning Instruction
Keep the body of the washer clean and free from debris. The
high pressure hose (14), the handgun (11) and the lance (10)
should also be kept clean. Regular cleaning of the nozzle is
important to the efficient operation of the washer. The nozzle
must be cleaned at regular intervals using the nozzle cleaner
(17) provided.

Storage
Disconnect the high pressure hose (14), the handgun (11)
•
and the lance (10), and store them carefully in a secure dry
place.
Always keep power tools out of the reach of children.
•
Avoid storing the washer at a temperature below 5 °C.
•
Frost can cause damage to the device that has not been fully
drained.
Make sure that the pressure washer, the handgun (11) and
•
the lance (10) have been thoroughly cleaned before storing.
Carefully remove all dirt especially from the electric motor’s
•
air vents.
Troubleshooting
The list below offers troubleshooting recommendations.

Before troubleshooting switch the device to

and unplug the cable.
Motor does not start
It is not plugged in.
•

Plug it in.
Line voltage does not correspond to the rating on the data
•
plate.
►
Use proper line voltage.
The outlet is defective.
•
►
Use another socket.
The extension cord is damaged.
•
►
Replace the faulty cable.
Internal overheating protection actuated.
•
►
Let the device cool for 5 minutes.
Motor shuts down
Line voltage does not respond to the rating on the data
•
plate.
►
Check the line rating against the rating on the data plate.
Internal overheating protection actuated.
•
►
Let the device cool for 5 minutes.
Excessive working pressure
Partial obstruction (clogging) of the nozzle.
•
►
Clean the nozzle.
Fluctuation in pressure
Air getting into the water hose or pump.
•
►
Switch «Off» the device, while holding the lever of the pistol
grip depressed and the water tap opened, let the water flow out
until continuous working pressure is set.
Irregular water supply.
•
►
Ensure that water supply meets the technical specifications
of the device.
Clogged water filter.
•
►
Clean the water filter.
Crimps or kinks in the water hose.
•
►
Lay down the hose straight and kink-free.
Motor runs but does not pressurize
Freezing.
•
►
Allow the pump, water hose or accessory to defrost.
Water not reaching the devices inlet.
•
►
Connect the device to the water supply.
Filter clogging.
•
►
Clean the filter.
Nozzle clogging.
•
►
Clean the nozzle
Weak but continuous water stream
Worn nozzle.
•
►
Replace the nozzle.
Worn On/Off valve.
•
►
Press the lever of the pistol grip quickly 5 times in a row.
CAUTION
Some accessories use a weak water stream, in such cases no
action is required.
Spontaneous device startup
Leakage in the pump or nozzle pistol grip.
•
►
Contact an IVT Service Center.
