COOLANT FILLING
Connect the "filling station", create a vacuum in the circuit and pre-fill
with coolant, then look for any leaks.
If there are no leaks, reconnect the battery, start the engine and
completely fill with coolant.
The quantity and type of coolant to use in the circuit are those of
the vehicle's O.E. system, indicated on the identifying plate.
Add 160 g of oil in the electric compressor
(of the same type as
that used in the O.E. system, also indicated on the identifying plate).
Disconnect the "filling station".
CONTROL PANEL POSITIONING
The
control panel "U" (fig. 25)
is the interface between the user and the
system so it is important to position it somewhere that is comfortable
and easy to reach.
To allow maximum flexibility in the choice of position, we have created
an alternative fastening to the traditional mechanical fastening, to
allow positioning on various types of surface.
The special double-sided sticky tape supplies allows easy, quick and
durable fastening. Cut it to size (if necessary), remove the protective
film and glue it to the control panel; then remove the other film and
fasten everything to the chosen surface
(fig. 26)
.
POSITIONING OF ELECTRIC AND ELECTRONIC
COMPONENTS - CONNECTIONS
First of all, identify the position for housing the electric and electronic
components (fig. 17).
The position of each component, in relation to the others to
which it must be electrically connected, must be compatible with the
length of the relative wiring.
Make the electrical connections as per the wiring diagram.
The
"W" ECU electronic control unit (7 electrical wiring diagram)
can
be placed in the central tunnel area, below the dashboard
(fig. 20)
.
The
relay and fuse assembly (11 ÷ 16 electrical wiring diagram)
can be
placed near the relay and fuses plate (O.E.) located on the dashboard
(passenger side)
(fig. 22)
.
The
connection point to the + key (10 electrical wiring diagram)
can be
made in the area behind the relay and fuses plate (O.E.)
(fig. 23)
.
The
internal air temperature "T" probe (9 electrical wiring diagram)
must be placed near the air intake chamber in such a way that it detects
the temperature inside the cockpit
(fig. 21)
.
The connection to the power supply can be made at the point indicated
in
fig. 24
.
CONNECTION (18
electrical wiring diagram)
TO THE O.E. ELECTRIC FAN
OF THE EVAPORATOR
(fig. 18).
Interrupt the connecting wires between the electronic speed regulator
(3
electrical wiring diagram)
and fan
(4
electrical wiring diagram)
, butt
with two-way adapters and terminals supplied and interpose the wiring
supplied.
The passage of the wirings between outside and inside the cabin can be
made at the point indicated in
fig. 19, 20
.
For the
control panel "U" (8 electrical wiring diagram)
see the next
section.

ELECTRICAL WIRING DIAGRAM KEY
If you want to hide the passage of the wiring of the control panel,
it is possible to make a hole in the wall
(fig. 26 - C)
or the base
(fig. 26
- D)
on which the panel is going to rest and insert the wire. The four-
way adapter supplied, must be connected to the wiring after inserting
the wire through the hole
(fig. 26)
.
If necessary, to avoid interference with the wiring and facilitate
the resting of the control panel on the wall or on the base, it is possible
to remove the part indicated in
fig. 25
.
Butt the electric connections between the various components and
fasten the wire bundles in place using appropriate clips.
