Your paraglider is certified for a specific weight range. If flying your
wing outside the factory recommended minimum/maximum weight
range numbers, you will then be operating beyond the safe limits of
you the wing which will no longer conforms to the flight characte-
ristics determined at the time of the tests and void the certification.
Choosing your all up weight within the weight range is a personal
choice.
You can fly at the top, middle or bottom of the stipulated weigh range.
We recommend the mid-range. Being at the low end of the scale has
advantages such as high damping, less dynamic feel, and a better
climb rate. The disadvantages are a lower air speed, less agile, and
reduced internal wing pressurization.
On the other end, a heavily loaded wing will fly faster, have a more
taut fabric, which will increase the dynamic character of the wing.
