SAFETY MEASURES
For safety reasons, please read these Instructions for Use attentively before putting the unit into ope-
ration. Those who do not acquaint themselves with these Instructions for Use should not put the unit
into operation. You must bear in mind that Ionic-CARE is a high-voltage device and, like in electrical
hot-air heaters, some of its parts are open (to ensure ventilation) and conductive objects can be inserted
in them. To allow proper ventilation, the vents may not be covered, excessive dust deposition inside
the unit must be prevented, and the unit may not be placed near flammable objects.
• Important information: The safety instructions given in these Instructions for Use should always be followed when
using this unit or any other electrical appliance. By reading of and complying with the below given warnings, you will
reduce the risk of an electrical accident or fire.
• Use the unit only in the way described in these Instructions for Use.
• In the interests of lowering the risk of an electrical accident, do not try to maintain the unit in any other way than
described in section Cleaning and Maintenance.
• Do not use the unit outdoors.
• Do not use the unit in damp environment (e.g. in a bathroom); relative humidity should not exceed 60 %.
• Do not use the unit in the vicinity of fireplaces or in areas where flammable materials, flammable dust or vapours can
occur. The air is ionized by microscopic electrical sparking (corona discharge) which can set flammable materials easily
(just as an electric drill, blender, or vacuum cleaner).
• Ensure that the unit works with correct voltage and power rate 220–240 V / 50 Hz.
• To reduce the risk of an electrical accident, the unit has a plug with earthing. The plug has a third earthing connector.
The plug can be used only in combination with a socket provided with earthing. In case of an atypical socket, please
contact the appropriate service centre and ask them to install a correct socket. Do not adjust the plug in any way!
• Before you disconnect the plug from the socket, always switch the unit off.
• Before you clean the stainless filter, always switch the unit off and unplug it from the socket.
• If the unit is not to be used for a longer time, disconnect it from the electric network.
• Never touch the inner parts of the unit like electrodes, ionizing wires etc. by any object.
• Any attempt to disassemble the unit will result in loss of the warranty and can cause severe injury to the user or severe
damage of the unit.
• Do not place the supply cable of the unit near heat sources or on sharp edges.
• Never put the unit into operation if the supply cable or the plug are or appear damaged. The damaged supply cable may
be replaced only by an authorized service.
• When disconnecting the unit from the electric network, grip the plug and pull it out of the socket. Never pull the
supply cable.
• When operating the unit, avoid putting fingers, parts of the body, loose clothes, jewels, and other objects in the unit
openings.
• Never touch the unit or its plug if your hands are wet.
• The air purifier is an electric device. If it is used in presence of children, they must be supervised by an adult.
• Do not touch the stainless filter until you discharge the residual voltage by the stainless filter contact with an electrically
earthed object like metal water piping, water tap, or a radiator.
• The stainless filter should be inspected and cleaned regularly to prevent excessive dust collection, which could cause
a short-circuit or fire.
