Some TV broadcasters (e.g. Euronews) provide several audio
channels or subtitles information, carrying commentary in various
European languages, to accompany the TV image.
In the Now/Next EPG, a
sign will be displayed in case the
program contains more than one audio channel; also a
sign
will be displayed in case the program contains subtitles. In case the
program contains AC3 a
sign will be displayed in Now/Next
EPG (see chapter Programme guide (EPG)).
To use these features, press the ’’Audio/Subtitles” key (29) on your
remote control. All available audio channels will now be displayed in a
list on the screen as well as a list of subtitling languages (see picture
45).
Use the directional “Up” and “Down” keys to select a specifi c audio channel or subtitle, and confi rm by pressing the “OK” key (6).
Press function “Green” key (9) to toggle between audio and subtitle lists. A subtitle can be deactivated by choosing the item “none” in
the subtitling list. To set a default language and subtitles, see chapter User preferences.
One of the features of the twin tuner receiver is a possibility to view
with two independent receiving spots a Picture in Picture (PIP). This
function allows watching parallel a second programme in a small
window on the same TV screen (see picture 46).
To set PIP function press the “PIP” key (14) on your remote control,
a small window will be open in one of the corners on your TV screen.
At this moment, big and small windows contain the same programme.
If you make zapping one of the windows will display new selected
programme depending of the settings (see chapter Zapping Screen).
To change the location of the small window on the screen, use the
“PIP position” key (16) on your remote control.
Using the “PIP Toggle” key (15) on the remote control, user can toggle
contents of the windows.
To exit from the PIP function, press the “PIP” key (14) on your remote
control.
Note:
Availability of the PIP function depends of the free resources of the digital receiver. It has a lower priority then tasks in personal
planer.
8. Standby mode
In standby mode some of the parts in the digital receiver do not work. This is done to reduce the power consumption of the digital
receiver when it is not in use. To switch digital receiver into standby mode use “Standby” key (2) on the front panel or “Standby”
key (1) on the remote control. The same keys are used to switch on the digital receiver. During the standby mode, a “Standby LED
indicator” on the front panel will be on. Some activities of the digital receiver during standby mode are possible. This depends of the
tasks in the personal planner list (see chapter Personal planner).
During standby mode, a loop through between TV and VCR SCART is done. That means user can watch on the TV set a VCR or a
DVD connected to the VCR SCART connector of the digital receiver. In addition, the user is able to record on his VCR a programme
from the TV set (loop through is bi-directional).
