TROUBLESHOOTING - ELECTRICAL
NOTE: For additional troubleshooting information and explanation of error codes, refer to the
individual ELECTRONICS MANUAL supplied with each wheelchair.
SYMPTOM
Batteries draw excessive
current when charging.
Battery indicator flashes the
charge level is low
immediately after recharge.
Battery indicator flashes
the charge level is low
too soon after being
recharged.
Motor chatters or runs
irregular.
Only one (1) drive wheel turns.
Joystick erratic or does not
respond as desired.
Wheelchair does not respond
to commands.
Power indicator OFFeven
after recharging.
Chair slows or stops while
driving AND one (1) of the
following occurs:
DPJ Joystick - orange LED
flashes
MPJ Joystick - HOT is
displayed
SOLUTIONS
Check batteries for shorted cell.
Replace if necessary (SECTION 7).
Contact Dealer/Invacare for Service.
Check batteries for shorted cell.

Poor connections between charger /
wheelchair. Contact Dealer/Invacare.
Have charger checked.

Current rollback. Chair has
been driving under a heavy
load for an extended period
of time.
Solutions
If pneumatic, check tires for correct and equal pressure.
Check for loose stem nuts/bolts.
