2.5 Navigator
Configuration
The Navigator Configuration Menu controls the overall operation of the unit from the
operation mode to how data packets are formed, routed and sent wirelessly.

2.5.1 Operation Mode (Master/Slave/Direct/Tracker)
Not to be confused with the wireless operation mode. There are four Navigator IIm
operation modes: Slave, Master, Direct and Tracker. Typically a Navigator IIm unit is
operated in slave mode.
Slave Mode
When in slave mode, the unit takes local data from the serial ports, GPS and discrete IO,
and forms Navigator packets – then transmits these packets using the embedded wireless
transceiver. Navigator packets received from the embedded wireless transceiver will be
parsed, the destination ID checked to make sure it matches the ID of this transceiver then
the different payloads stripped off and sampled out the appropriate port (A, B, GPS, IO).
The wireless transceiver must be configured correctly – typically the wireless
transceivers’ operation mode will be a Point-to-Multipoint slave.
