If your computer has another network card connected to the Internet, select it from
the “Name” drop-down menu and click “Enable ICS.” If your computer
doesn’t
have
another network card with Internet connection, click “Not enable ICS.” The Config
(Basic Configuration) screen for the AP function will display, providing you with
labeled tabs for access to the five other primary menu options (in addition to sub-
menus such as Use MAC Address and Security Setting, as detailed below).
SSID
— Enter the SSID (the name used to identify this wireless access point) using
up to 32 numerical characters and spaces.
Channel
— Select the wireless channel you want to use. The number of channels
available here depends on the setting of “Country Region Code.”
Wireless Mode
— Select the operation mode of the access point.
Use Mac Address
— Click to use the MAC address of the card as the SSID. An
“AP” prefix will be added automatically.
Security Setting
— Set the security options (wireless data encryption). Refer to
Section 4.2: Security Settings for details.
