Product Safety Information

Intended Use:

Model YT28 Air Percussive Rock Drills are mainly used for tunnelling work in mines and

drilling holes in medium and hard rock. They are also important tools for quarrying works,

coal mines, railway, hydraulic engineering and national defense. Fitted up with line oiler

and air-leg (FT160A for YT28). The machines are suitable for wet drilling in medium and

hard rock. They can also be mounted on jumbos. YT28 is suitable for drilling rocks with a

hardness of = 8~18.

WARNING

Before operating a new tool, it should be run at low pressure for 5 minutes. If there is a

problem, the tool should be disconnected and cleared up of all spare parts. Inspect then

thinly re-coat the grease on surfaces of parts which touch others. Finally reassemble

and insert the shank clockwise into the chuck bushing and again check the tool at a low

pressure free running.

Never forget to refill oil into the oil liner and adjust the oil valve before operating the

tool. The working tool should be lubricated every hour. Use only proper lubrication. Do

not run the tool without lubrication.

Start the tool lightly, then gradually throttle to full thrust. Do not permit full rotation

at full thrust. Also do not operate free running for long periods of time to prevent

unnecessary damage to parts. It is acceptable to pull rods from tools at medium speeds.

Do not operate the tool without a water tube.

After used, disassemble the water tube and run the tool free to blow out condensed

moisture to prevent rust.

After tools have been in operation for a long period of time. They should be checked

and maintained regularly at least once per week. Parts should be washed and replaced

for new ones if damaged.

To store up a used tool for a long period of time, first disassemble the tool, clean and

lubricate, wrap up.

Operator must abide by technical regulation of rock drill operations and especially pay

attention to breaking of drill rod to prevent serious accident.
