Quick Installation Guide
3
Step 1: Hold the RAID controller unit by its edges
and insert it into the
controller bay. Push the unit in until it reaches the end of the controller
bay. The guide rails on the sides of the controller bay should make the
plug-in process an effort-less task. You should be able to feel the
contact resistance of the docking connector when pushing the
controller inwards.
Step 2: Pull the ejector handle outwards
and orient it to an angle of
approximately 15 degree relative to the controller rear panel. Carefully
orient it so that the notches on the handle can lock onto the protruded
edge of enclosure rail on the left-hand side. This is crucial for the
positive insertion of the controller unit. (see
Figure 4
)
Step 3:
Secure the controller module to the enclosure by fastening the hand
screw. Insert the retention screw on the right hand side of the ejector
Handle.
Dongle/MUX Kit Installation
Note :
If you are using SATA drives in the single controller subsystem it is not
necessary to install a dongle kit. If you wish to install PATA drives or if you are
using a redundant controller subsystem, dongle/MUX kits must be installed.
To Install a dongle/MUX kit please follow these instructions
Step 1:
The SATA-to-PATA dongle/MUX
kit is shown in
Figure 5
. It is
Mounted on a metal base that
has three pre-drilled holes
reserved for retention screws.
Step 2:
Three corresponding pre-drilled
screw holes can be found at the
