Entrance counter solution
A smart entrance counter solution (SECS) counts the number of people entering and exiting premises such as
supermarkets, pharmacies, office buildings, etc. It helps the business owners to determine the occupancy of their
premises, enabling various solutions such as maintaining social distancing inside the premises, evacuating
during an emergency and saving energy based on occupancy. The entrance counting data can be sent to a
centralized server, so many sensors can be interconnected. In addition, the statistics collected by the central
server can be displayed remotely on a laptop or mobile device to understand the occupancy level of the facility.
This user guide describes the required SW and HW, including how to set up and get started with Infineon SECS
using CSK. Please refer to the CSK user manual for more details about CSK. Additional documents are available
and are listed at the end of this document.

Smart entrance counter application
Infineon

SECS counts the (real-time) number of people entering and/or exiting. Enabled by Infineon
’s
XENSIV™
BGT60TR13C radar sensor with its sophisticated radar entrance counting algorithm, this solution provides highly
accurate counting without delay. The current solution has been developed for people entering or exiting one
after another (one at a time).
