Applications and Features
The control panel LC-4LED serves for easy and
convenient operation of the DMX interface CPL-
3DMX as well as LED spotlights and LED panels
equipped with the following DMX control channels:
a channel to control the red LEDs
a channel to control the green LEDs
a channel to control the blue LEDs
a channel to control the total brightness
and the stroboscope function
The following units of the product range of “img
Stage Line“ are suitable, e. g.:
CPL-3DMX
LED-200DX / RGB
LED-500DX / RGB
PARL-1DMX
PARL-1RGB /…
PARL-4SET
PARL-10RGB /…
PARL-30SPOT
PARL-30WASH
PARL-56PDX /...
PARL-64PDX /...
RGBL-30DMX

The LC-4LED operates according to the
DMX512 protocol. DMX is the abbreviation of
D
igital
M
ultiple
x
and means digital control of
several DMX units which may reserve a maxi-
mum of 512 DMX addresses together. The LC-
4LED reserves the DMX addresses 1 to 32.
–
4 DMX LED spotlights or other compatible DMX
controlled units or 4 groups of units may be
assigned to the LC-4LED and be controlled by it.
–
Per spotlight, 4 DMX channels from 8 may be
assigned to the LC-4LED in any desired order
for the control of RGB and brightness.
–
For immediate calling of illumination scenes,
16 memory locations are available.
–
For programming of sequences of scenes
(chases), 16 additional memory locations are
available. Each memory location allows to pro-
gramme a sequence of up to 99 scenes. As a
maximum, 392 scenes may be memorized.
The scenes of a sequence can be advanced
manually, by music control or automatically at
adjustable speed.

Setting into Operation
4.1 Connecting units
Prior to connecting units or changing existing con-
nections disconnect the LC-4LED and all units con-
nected from the power supply.
1) Prior to connecting the spotlights determine the
signal polarity required by the DMX inputs of the
spotlights. Adjust this polarity with the sliding
switch (19) for the DMX output (20):
left position:
pin 2 = data +, pin 3 = data -
right position: pin 2 = data -, pin 3 = data +
Notes
1. Only spotlights of the same polarity can be used.
2. For units from the product range of “img Stage Line”
set the switch to the right position.
2) Connect the XLR jack DMX OUT (20) to the
DMX signal input of the (first) spotlight.
For connection, a special cable for high data
flow should be used. Standard microphone
cables with screening and a minimum cross sec-
tion of 2 × 0.22 mm
2
and with a capacity as low
as possible can only be recommended for a total
cable length of up to 100 m. For cable lengths
exceeding 150 m it is recommended to insert a
DMX level matching amplifier (e. g. SR-103DMX
by “img Stage Line”).
3) For operating several units by the LC-4LED,
connect the DMX output of the first unit to the
DMX input of the following unit. Connect its out-
put again to the input of the following unit, etc.
until all units have been connected in a chain.
4) Especially for long connection cables it is rec-
ommended to terminate the DMX output of the
last DMX unit in the chain with a 120 Ω resistor
(> 0.3 W), even if only one unit has been con-
nected: connect a corresponding terminating
plug (e. g. DLT-123 by “img Stage Line”) to the
DMX output jack.
5) Connect the supplied power supply unit to the
jack INPUT (21) and the power supply unit to a
socket (230 V~ / 50 Hz).
6) Switch on the control panel with the POWER
switch (22).
After operation, switch off the LC-4LED with
the POWER switch. If it is not used for a longer
time, disconnect the power supply unit from the
socket because there is a low current consump-
tion even if the control panel is switched off.
