Equipment localization
The place of installation of the insert as well as its surroundings are important factors to its
correct and efficient operation. To ensure this, we recommend:
The insert should be installed in a place with sufficient airflow to a proper combustion.
An outside air intake is recommended to improve the performance of the insert or to use the
insert outside air intake.
The existence of additional appliances with mechanical air extraction might cause depression
and the combustion exhaust gases to exit to the room where the insert is installed. This can
be solved with the installation of an outside air intake.
It is important to ensure the air intake grates are clear and not blocked. These grates should be
installed lower in the wall, near the floor, preferably on the opposite wall where the chimney is.
The use of the insert together with other appliances with air extraction, like kitchen extractors,
might require additional air intake grates. This should be evaluated by a specialized technician.
The insert should be installed over a surface with resistance to support its weigh and made
with non-combustible materials. If a base is developed for the insert, has to guarantee the
even weight distribution of the equipment and be made of noncombustible material.
The insert can’t be cemented or fixed to the ground because this restrains the normal expansion
of the product during its heating process and may result in serious structural damage.
