aggressive environmental conditions, including

hot surfaces

naked flames

welding splatter

electrical conductivity

contact with

sharp edges

abrasive surfaces

chemicals

immediately stop using the product if it is exposed to any of the above or is damaged in any way until it has
been inspected by a competent person;

ensure that the Lanyard is only used for a maximum period of 6 years after the date of manufacture

the life of a Lanyard is variable due to many contributing factors including: the environmental
conditions in which it is used, the frequency of use, storage and maintenance protocols adopted
l
ensure that the date of first use is recorded in this instruction booklet.

should you resell this IKAR GmbH Lanyard, it is essential that all instructions for use, maintenance and
periodic examination are provided in the language of destination.
Instructions for Pre-Use Check
Users of IKAR GmbH Lanyards must carry out a pre use inspection before each and every use:

checking the webbing and/or rope for:
l
cuts, tears and nicks
l
abrasion
l
fraying
l
thinning
l
heat damage
l
mould and paint
l
evidence of chemical & U.V light attack, which will be seen as discolouration, softening or
hardening of the webbing and/or rope
l
checking the stitch patterns for:
l
broken or abraded stitches
l
loosened stitching
l
pulled and loops of stitching
l
long tails of thread
l
checking the metal fittings for:
l
rust and pitting
l
cracks
