Example: Block a computer from accessing a website
Let’s say there’s a computer on your home network with IP address 192.168.1.101, and you want to
prevent that computer from visiting www.abc.com. Here’s what you’d do:
1.
Choose Settings > Security > LAN IP Filter .
2.
Click
ADD
and choose these settings:
WAN IP Address
This is where you'd put the IP address of www.abc.com. We'll look up
the IP address with a simple, built-in Windows command called "ping".
a.
From your Windows desktop, click Start > Run.
b.
Type cmd and press Enter.
c.
At the command prompt, type ping www.abc.com and
press Enter.
The IP address of www.abc.com is shown - something like 1.2.3.4 - so
enter 1.2.3.4 at WAN IP Address.
NOTE:
We've used Windows XP for this example. The steps might be different
on your computer.
