POE304-MS PoE Injector User Manual
Chapter 3
Installation
This section describes how to install the PoE injector and make connections to it.
Please read the following topics and perform the procedures in the order presented.
Before installation
Before installation,
we recommend checking the network environment. If there is any
IEEE 802.3bt device that needs to be powered on and works normally, the
PoE injector
provides a way to supply power to this Ethernet device conveniently and easily. The
PoE injector is equipped with a power adapter with a 100-240
V
AC input and injects DC
52~56
V power into the pin of the twisted pair cable (pair 1/2 [
-
], 3/6 [+] and pair 4/5[+],
7/8[
-
]).
PoE injector installation
1. Connect the AC power adapter to the “52~
56V DC IN” connector on the PoE
injector. The “PWR” LED illuminates steadily.
2. Connect a standard Ethernet cable from an Ethernet switch or PC workstation to the
“Ethernet” port on the PoE injector..
3.
Connect the long cable to “EDC” port.
4.
Connect to IEEE 802.3af/at/bt devices. Because of its IEEE 802.3af/at/bt Power
over Ethernet capability, the PoE injector can directly connect with any IEEE
802.3af/at/bt end
-nodes
such as PTZ (Pan, Tilt & Zoom) network cameras, PTZ
speed domes, color touch screens, Voice over IP (VoIP) telephones, and multi
-
channel wireless LAN access points that support IEEE 802.3af/at/bt In
-line PoE
ports.
