ERIODIC MAINTENANCE
Thorough periodic maintenance will considerably reduce the riskof
operating faults.
The recommended maintenance schedule for this
type of equipment is every three months or 10,000 documents.
This schedule will however depend on the printer operating
conditions (quality of the media used, dusty atmosphere, etc.)
The periodic maintenance recommended for this printer consists of the
following four operations:
•
Removing dust from the printer interior
•
Cleaning the platen and the thermal printhead
•
Cleaning the magnetic head
•
Final check
The IER Cleaning Kit (

) contains all the elements
required for efficient printer service.
1) Removing Dust from the Printer Interior
CAUTION
Before starting any dust removal or printhead
cleaning operations, make sure the AC power
cord is disconnected from the printer.
a)
Remove the media from the printer.
b)
Use the cleaning kit dust remover and blow compressed gas:
•
into the front output slot of the printer
•
into the rear feeder(s).
