Software Architecture
Applications can interface with the driver directly through the PC/SC interface.
uTrust 5501 F leverages a PC/SC CCID driver that is freely available for all supported operating systems
(Windows, macOS X, and Linux). With current Windows versions (starting with Windows Vista) and
macOS X, this driver is already included in the basic installation.
With the diverse Linux derivatives, there may be distribution-‐specific drivers that must be installed
using the install mechanism of the used distribution.
