and smoke can be emitted. This is a normal phenomenon, ensure proper ventilation of the
room.
•
After the device has cooled down completely, clean it as described in the
Cleaning and
Maintenance
section.
FIRST USE
•
Place the device on a dry, stable and non-skid surface. The standing feet (7) are equipped
with non-skid endings.
•
Apply a thin layer of butter, margarine or cooking fat onto the heating plates (2) prior to using
the device. Open the lid as described below.
•
Connect the power plug with an appropriate socket. The device switches on and the green
indicator lamp (5) lights up.
•
You can achieve the best results by preheating the device. Keep the lid closed and allow the
device to heat up for approx. 3 minutes. As soon as the device is ready to be used, the green
red indicator lamp (6) lights up.
•
Open the device by flapping the locking device (1) up and opening the lid on the appropriate
handle. Touch the device on the handles (4) only.
•
Place a slice of toast on the lower heating plate. Butter the toast first.
•
Put the food suited to your taste on the toast and cover the sandwich with another toast.
Butter this one as well.
•
You can prepare maximum two sandwiches at the same time.
•
Now close the lid carefully and slowly, and hinge the locking device by locking it in place.
•
C A U T I O N ! While closing the lid hot steam can be emitted. Please be extremely
careful.
•
The toasting process takes around 2 – 3 minutes. Switching the red indicator lamp on and off
indicates maintaining constant operating temperature.
•
To remove prepared sandwiches, open the locking device and carefully lift the lid up. Take
care of the hot steam!
•
Remove the sandwiches with a synthetic or wooden utensil. After using the device,
disconnect the power plug from the socket and allow the device to cool down in a place
inaccessible to children.
•
The sandwiches are ready to be served. However, keep in mind that depending on the food,
the sandwiches can be extremely hot and can cause serious burns. It refers especially to
food with high water percentage, like for example tomatoes.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
•
Disconnect the power plug from the socket and allow the device to cool down in a place
inaccessible to children and mentally disadvantaged persons.
•
Stubborn food rests, like e.g. burnt cheese can be removed after putting a little bit of cooking
oil over them. Dab the spots with a little bit of oil and allow the oil to take effect for a couple of
minutes.
•
Remove big food rests with a synthetic or wooden scraper. Clean the casing of the device
with a damp cloth with some dishwashing liquid. Then dry all parts well.
•
Do not immerse the toaster in water or keep it under running water. When cleaning,
make sure that water does not enter the inside of the device.
•
Do not use abrasive cleaners and objects for cleaning, including petrol or solvents.
•
Store the toaster in a dry, cool place, protected from humidity and direct sunlight, and out of
the reach of children.
