Clearing GFDI Faults- Ground Referenced Applications
In the event of a detected ground fault the Inverter will cease exporting or importing
power. The fault will be noted on the front panel display. If the fault exceeds 1 A, the
ground fault detection fuse will open. The DC2 Port (30PV) and the DC3 Port (30PV+S)
both share a ground fault detection circuit and fuse. If a ground fault is indicated,
inspection and repair of wiring should be referred to qualified personnel. Once the
ground fault is remedied, check the front panel display for an indication that the
detected ground fault condition has cleared. If the display indicates the ground fault
interruption fuse has opened, follow the procedure below to replace the ground fault
fuse. Use an identical 508 Series 3AB 1 A fuse type for replacement.
Clearing GFDI Faults - Floating Applications
In the event of a detected ground fault the Inverter will cease exporting or importing
power. The fault will be noted on the front panel display. In floating applications, an IMI
impedance sensing circuit is utilized.
If a ground fault is indicated, inspection and repair of wiring should be referred to
qualified personnel. Once the ground fault is remedied, check the front panel display for
an indication that the detected ground fault condition has been cleared.
Front Panel Display
The SunDial
™ front panel display features five (5) LED signals:
• FAULT LED: blinking red if Inverter has an active fault, solid red if Inverter has
GFDI/IMI/fan lockdown fault, dark otherwise
• AC PORT LED: blue if AC1 has voltage >= 120V (line-to-line)
• PV PORT LED: blue if PV/DC2 has voltage >= low-lim register
• EXPORT LED: blue if Inverter is converting power (blinking 1 Hz to 6 Hz rate
proportional to power level, i.e. blink faster if higher power)
