Setting the Acquisition Parameters
Enabling or Disabling the First Connector Check
The first connector check feature is used to verify that the fibers are
properly connected to the OTDR. It verifies the injection level and the
reflectance of the first connector. It displays a message when a unusually
high loss or reflectance occur at the first connection.
You enable or disable this feature for all wavelengths at a time.
To enable or disable the first connector check:
1.
Press Menu, select
Setup
>
OTDR
, and then
press Select.
2.
Display the
Acquisition
pane (F1/F2 key).
3.
Use the up/down arrows to highlight
First
connector check,
and then press Select to
select it.
You can press Select one more time to clear the box.
Reverting to Factory-Default Acquisition Settings
You can revert to factory settings at any time. The IOR (group index),
backscatter, and helix factor will be reset and the
first connector check
feature will be disabled.
To revert to factory-default settings:
1.
Press Menu, select
Setup
>
OTDR
, and then press Select.
2.
From the
Acquisition
pane, use the arrows to select
Default
, and then
press Select.
3.
When the application prompts you, answer
Yes
(F1/F2 key).
