25. CRANKCASE LEAKS

With the carburetor and muffler removed,
block the intake and exhaust ports with
the seal flanges.
See Cylinder Cover and Muffler
sections.
NOTE: Remove intake plate from intake
boot prior to installing intake seal flange.

This section covers testing the
the crankcase for leaks. A leak
in the crankcase can cause the
engine to run too lean, causing
engine damage, or not run at all.

Securely plug or tape over the clutch
needle roller lubrication port on the
crankshaft.
Clutch cup and needle roller must be
removed. See Clutch Cup and Rim
Sprocket Section (section 8).
