Call procedure
When your system employs tone sgnallng (excludng
CTCSS and DTCS), ths call procedure may be necessary
pror to voce transmsson. The tone sgnallng employed
may be a selectve callng system whch allows you to call
specfic staton(s) only and prevent unwanted statons from
contactng you.

Select the desred TX code channel or 2/5-tone code
accordng to your System Operator’s nstructons.
• Ths may not be necessary dependng on programmng.
• Refer to pages 14 or 15 for selecton.

Push [Call] (assgned to one of the dealer programmable
keys)

After transmttng, the remander of your communcaton
can be carred out n the normal fashon.

NOTE:
Transmttng wthout an antenna may damage the
transcever. See (p. 1) for accessory attachments.
Receiving:

Rotate [VOL] to turn the power ON.

Push [CH Up] or [CH Down], or rotate [ROTARY SELEC-
TOR]* to select the conventonal system channel, n se-
quence.
*Dependng on the pre-settng.

When recevng a call, adjust the audo output level to a
comfortable lstenng level.
Transmitting:
Wat for the channel to become clear to avod nterference.

Whle pushng and holdng [PTT], speak nto the mcro-
phone at a normal voce level.
• When a tone sgnallng system s used, the call procedure de-
scrbed at the prevous page may be necessary.

Release [PTT] to return to receve.
IMPORTANT:
To maxmze the audo qualty of your sgnal;
1. Pause brefly after pushng [PTT].
2. Hold the mcrophone 5 to 10 cm from your mouth, then
speak nto the mcrophone at a normal voce level.
