Chapter 3. Symptom-to-part index
This index lists symptoms, errors, and the possible causes. The most likely part that
needs to be replaced is listed first. Use this Symptom-to-part index to help you
decide which parts to have available when servicing the product.
The POST BIOS displays POST error codes and messages on the panel.
Beep codes and their meanings
A beep code is an audio signal consisting of a short tone or a series of short tones
separated by pauses. For example, beep code
1-2-3 consists of:

One beep
v
A pause
v
Two beeps
v
A pause
v
Three beeps
Note: One beep after the POST completes successfully indicates that the
system is operating correctly.
Table 2 lists the beep codes, their meanings, the suspected parts, and the
suggested actions.
