10. Connect any needed cables to the adapter.
Attention:
Route cables so that they do not block the flow of air from the
fans.
11. If you have other options to install or remove, do so now; otherwise, go to
“Replacing the cover, door, and bezel” on page 80.
Installing or replacing a microprocessor
The Model 200 has one microprocessor installed on the system board. If you install
an additional microprocessor to the Model 200, your appliance can operate as a
symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) appliance. This can enhance performance. For
the Model 200, use these instructions to add a microprocessor. The Model 225 has
two microprocessors; use these instructions to replace a microprocessor.
Attention:
To avoid damage and ensure proper appliance operation when you
install a new or an additional microprocessor, use microprocessors that have the
same cache size and type, and the same clock speed. Microprocessor internal
clock frequencies and external clock frequencies must be identical.

Attention:
When you handle electrostatic discharge-sensitive devices (ESDs),
take precautions to avoid damage from static electricity. For details on handling
these devices, refer to “Handling electrostatic discharge-sensitive devices” on
page 124.
1. Review the safety precautions listed in Statement 1 and Statement 5 in
“Translated safety notices” on page 124.
2. Switch off the appliance and peripheral devices and disconnect all external
cables and power cords; then remove the cover (see “Removing the cover
(Model 200)” on page 51 for details).
3. Remove the terminator card from the microprocessor connector. Store the
terminator card in a safe place in the static-protective package that your new
microprocessor is shipped in; you will need to replace the terminator card if you
remove the microprocessor.
4. Install the microprocessor:
