Chapter 14. Metro Mirror interfaces
155
Example 14-5 illustrates the CGROUP command.
Example 14-5 CGROUP command example
CGROUP DEVN(X'6400') PRIM(X'0002' AAVCA X'00') SEC(X'0003' AAVCA X'01') FREEZE
CGROUP DEVN(X'6400') PRIM(X'0002' AAVCA X'00') SEC(X'0003' AAVCA X'01') RUN
The parameters for the CGROUP command follow the usual pattern of SSID, serial number,
and LSS.
14.2.7 CQUERY
The CQUERY command is used to query the status of one volume of a Metro Mirror volume
pair or all paths that are associated with the LSS for the device number that is specified. The
CQUERY command can be issued to either a primary or secondary Metro Mirror volume. A
host system that is attached only to a primary volume cannot obtain the status of the
secondary volume for that pair. In the same way, a host attached only to the secondary
volume cannot obtain the status of the primary volume.
Example 14-6 shows a CQUERY command for device number
6400
.
Example 14-6 CQUERY command
CQUERY DEVN(6400)
The output of the CQUERY command (shown in Example 14-7) provides volume related
information, such as SSID, CCA, LSS number, DS6000 serial number and WWNN.
Example 14-7 CQUERY output
ANTP8802I CQUERY DEVN(6400)
ANTP0090I CQUERY FORMATTED LVL 3 739

Tip: The CGROUP FREEZE command deletes the paths between the specified LSS pair.
To restart normal Metro Mirror operation again, the paths will have to be reestablished and
the pairs will have to be resynchronized.
Note: A single LSS can be paired with up to four other LSSs. Therefore, you might have to
issue up to four CGROUP commands to suspend all pairs on a single primary LSS.
