4. Repeat steps “1” on page 4 - “3” on page 5 for the right rail.
Installing the 9183-22X system into the rack
Learn how to install the IBM Power System IC922 (9183-22X) system into the rack by using slide rails.
About this task
Note: This system requires two people to install the system into the rack.
Procedure
1. Remove the shipping cover on the rear and the front of the system, if present.
2. Extend the slide rails forward until they click twice into place.
3. Carefully lift the server and tilt it into position over the slide rails so that the rear nail heads on the
server line up with the rear slots on the slide rails.
4. Slide the server down until the rear nail heads slip into the two rear slots.
5. Slowly lower the front of the server until the other nail heads slip into the other slots on the slide rails.
Ensure that the front latch slides over the nail heads.
6. Press in the release latches on the slide rails and push the server all the way into the rack until it clicks
into place.
