When you run the diagnostic programs, a single problem might cause more than
one error message. When this happens, correct the cause of the first error
message. The other error messages usually will not occur the next time you run
the diagnostic programs.

For intermittent problems, check the error log; see “Error logs” on page 40 and
“Diagnostic programs, messages, and error codes” on page 56.
v If no LEDs are lit on the DPI blade control panel, verify the DPI blade status and
errors in the advanced management module Web interface; also see “Solving
undetermined problems” on page 60.

If device errors occur, see “Troubleshooting tables.”
Performing the checkout procedure
To perform the checkout procedure, complete the following steps:
1. If the DPI blade is running, turn off the DPI blade.
2. Turn on the DPI blade. If the DPI blade does not start, see “Troubleshooting
tables.”
Troubleshooting tables
Use the troubleshooting tables to find solutions to problems that have identifiable
symptoms. If these symptoms relate to shared BladeCenter unit resources, see
“Solving shared BladeCenter resource problems” on page 58.
If you cannot find a problem in these tables, see “Running the diagnostic programs”
on page 57 for information about testing the DPI blade.
If you have just added new software or a new optional device, and the DPI blade is
not working, complete the following steps before you use the troubleshooting tables:
1. Remove the software or device that you just added.
2. Run the diagnostic tests to determine whether the DPI blade is running
correctly.
3. Reinstall the new software or new device.
