Problem: Wavy print lines
1: Continuous Forms Device (F1) only: the forms tension setting is
incorrect.
Solution: Check the tension setting. See Chapter 1, “Setting
Up the 4230 Printer” for more information.
2: The Automatic Forms Thickness Adjustment (AFTA) setting
needs to be changed.
Solution: See the procedure for adjusting the forms thickness
setting through the operator panel (based on your forms device)
in Chapter 1, “Setting Up the 4230 Printer.”
3: The forms are loaded incorrectly.
Solution: Check to see that the forms are properly loaded.
Problem: Ribbon snagging or tearing
1: The ribbon is worn.
Solution: Replace the ribbon cartridge. See Chapter 4,
“Replacing Your Ribbon.”
2: The Automatic Forms Thickness Adjustment (AFTA) setting
needs to be changed.
Solution: See the procedure for adjusting the forms thickness
setting through the operator panel (based on your forms device)
in Chapter 1, “Setting Up the 4230 Printer.”
3: The print head is catching on the ribbon.
Solution: Call for service.
