Chapter 1. Overview
Use a Gigabit Fibre Channel PCI Adapter (Type 4-S) to make high-speed connections between
stand-alone system units and storage servers on a Fibre Channel network at speeds up to one Gigabit per
second. This adapter requires a PCI 2.1, 32-bit, 33 MHz slot.
Use a 2 Gigabit Fibre Channel Adapter for 64-bit PCI Bus (Type 4-W) to make high-speed connections
between stand-alone system units and storage servers on a Fibre Channel network at speeds up to two
gigabits per second. This adapter requires a PCI 2.2, 64-bit, 66 MHz slot, or a PCI 2.1, 32-bit, 33 MHz
slot. Use of the 64-bit slot is recommended.
Use a 2 Gigabit Fibre Channel PCI-X Adapter (Type 5704) to make high-speed connections between
stand-alone system units and storage servers on a Fibre Channel network at speeds up to two Gigabits
per second. This adapter requires a PCI 2.1, 32-bit, 33 MHz slot. For best performance, use of a 64-bit,
133 MHz slot is recommended.
