Calibration
Read this section completely before starting any calibration.
⇒
Log into the system using access code 336.
⇒
Select Unscaled Input from the main menu. This display will be used to display the readings
required for calibration.
The following operation of collecting samples may require two or more people.
Collecting a sample.
⇒
Open the bin gates to discharge a batch.
If the system does not automatically select the average function then close the switch connected to
the Hydro View as the bin gate opens and open the switch as the gate closes..
⇒
While the batch is discharging collect two to three kilogram of aggregate which accurately
represent samples of the complete batch. Place this in the container or bags and seal.
⇒
Record the Average Unscaled Input displayed on the Hydro-View before the next batch is started.
The Average Unscaled Input will remain frozen on the display until the start of next batch.
Drying the sample to calculate the moisture content.
⇒
Thoroughly mix the sample and remove approximately 1 Kg for drying. Reseal the container.
⇒
Accurately weigh the this sample, record this as A
⇒
Dry the sample until all traces of moisture have bean removed. This can be done by repeatedly
weighing the sample between heating until three consecutive weightings are the same. Take great
care not to lose any of the sample by careless stirring. Loosing only a few grains will make the test
invalid. Record this weight as B.
⇒
Calculate (A-B)/B, this is the moisture content of the sample.
⇒
Repeat the drying sequence for another 1kg removed from the sample above.
If the moisture is different by more than 0.1% then one of the samples was not dried out
completely and the test has to be restarted.
⇒
Record the average of the two readings.
