7 Errors and Troubleshooting
Error Cause(s) Remedy
Pump conveys in the
wrong direction Check the arrow on the housing — if necessary
change the electrical connection
Air in suction area
and pump It might take several minutes until the pump has
transported the air off and starts pumping the
fluid. Turning the OLF-5 in a horizontal position
for a few minutes helps.
If the unit is still not pumping the fluid after
approx. 5 min, fill the pump via the suction side.
No oil flow
Operating viscosity
< 200 mm²/s and
pump not primed Operating condition in which the max. flow rate
is not achieved until after approx. 10 minutes.
Medium heavily
contaminated
Service life of the
filter element
exceeded
Replace filter element Filter
contaminated
(Clogging indicator
has been
triggered)
Viscosity of the fluid
too high Wait until the oil has been warmed up by
pumping within the pump (pressure relief valve
open). After the fluid has been warmed up the
pump starts conveying.
Leakage at the
filter housing Check if the drain screw or the tensioning
clamp on the filter housing has been tightened.
(Tightening torque for tensioning clamp: 5 Nm
(max. 10 Nm))
Check the O-ring for damage, if necessary
replace it.
For spin-on units, check if the element has
been tightened, or change the seal.
