Checking the TCU / Servicing
Checking the degasification and dewatering unit for function
Connect a transparent hose with an internal diameter of Ø 9 … 10 mm to the gas
withdrawal connection in the lower section of the degasification and dewatering unit.
Fill a little oil or water in the hose and form a U so that an air lock is made.
Check the air movement in the sealed in air
when the central rod of the unit is close to
the lower position.
Note the air movement when the rod moves
down fully and then up again.
(X)
The function is correct when the air only escapes from the hose. The air flow is
visible at an interval of 1 … 1.5 minutes, depending on the pressure and
temperature.
There is a malfunction if the air flows in both directions. The reason for this is a
leak in the check valve. Clean the check valve as described in the instructions on
page 50. Clean the valve every year.
The unit must be checked in the manufacturer's plant or by a service technician if
no air movement is visible within ~ 5 minutes.
