Filling and bleeding the TCU
Proceed as follows to fill and bleed the TCU:
1.
Open the ball valve (5) at the inlet of the TCU.
2.
Open the bleed screw on the filter housing. Caution: Do not remove the
bleed screw completely. Do so using a 5 mm Allen wrench.
3.
Activate the automatic shut-off valve (9) by pressing the button on the right
of the filter housing until the filter housing is bled and filled with oil. It is
possible to activate the valve using a screwdriver (see illustration).
4.
When the filter housing is full, release the automatic shut-off valve (9) and
tighten the bleed screw on the filter housing again.
5.
Open and remove the bleed screw of the degasification and dewatering
unit (8) using a 5 mm Allen wrench.
6.
Activate the automatic shut-of valve (9) by pressing the button on the right
of the filter housing to fill the degasification and dewatering unit (8) with oil.
7.
Release the valve (9) as soon as the unit is filled until about 1 cm of air
remains.
8.
Install the air bleed screw.
Bleeding the return connection on the transformer
Proceed as follows to bleed the return connection:
1.
When the return valve has been attached, open the connection on the
transformer to pressurize the connection.
2.
Check all adapters and ball valves for leaks.
3.
Bleed the empty space between the valve and the check valve. To do so
press a blunt object against the ball of the check valve. Catch the oil that
emerges,
≈
1 liter, in a container.
4.
Perform further bleeding measures at the connection depending on the
type or requirements, e.g. careful opening of the fastening screws of the
connection flange to allow air trapped in the upper section to escape.
Hold a container underneath it to catch the leaking oil!
The connection fittings may be equipped with bleed screws.
5.
Close the connection.
