The flow speed through the FCU is so low that the fluid nor-
mally cannot build up a static charge. The possibility cannot
however be excluded that statically loaded fluid will be aspi-
rated from the system, that will then result in an uncontrolled
electrostatic discharge when it exits the FCU. This can lead to
spark formation, which will become an ignition source for any
ignitable mixtures that may be on hand.
The FCU has a safety disconnection that switches off the
pump when the ambient temperature of > 45°C is exceeded in
the FCU.

6.5. Selecting the measurement location
Select the measurement location so that the sample measured
comes from a turbulent location, with a good flow. For exam-
ple: on a pipe bend (A). This ensures that a typical sample is
analyzed.
