18.BH photo sensor position adjustment
Check
1. If the machine dose not sew even with the buttonhole
lever all the way down, it means that the
buttonhole lever is not positioned properly. Also, if
the buttonhole lever is not positioned properly, the
machine will sew buttonhole as shown or incorrectly.
2. With pressing the stitch number 5 and Mirror
button, turn on the power switch.
Service program ”Sensor test” will start.
First digit of 7 segment LED will indicate the
sensor condition.
3. Attach the one step buttonhole foot.
4. Lower the presser foot and the buttonhole lever.
5. Pull the presser foot frame frontward about 1cm
while lifting the presser foot lever slightly.
Insert 0.3 gauge between the buttonhole lever and
buttonhole foot.
Then slowly move the frame backward. Lower the
lever when the LED “e” is turned on.
6. At this time, the presser foot frame should be
about 1mm frontward from the extreme end.

f it is not in correct position, adjust as follows:
Adjustment
1. Pull the presser foot frame 1mm frontward from
the extreme end, and lower the presser foot.
2. Remove the light cover.
3. See the machine from the left side. Insert the 0.3
mm gauge between the buttonhole lever and
buttonhole.
Turn the eccentric pin (a) left or right so
that the LED “e” just changes to turned on. Then
remove the gauge, the LED “e” should turn off.
4. Re-check the buttonhole lever position when
adjustments
have been completed.
