AIR COMPRESSOR INTAKE AND EXHAUST
VALVES
Once a year bring the compressor to a service center
and have a trained service technician check the air
compressor pump intake and exhaust valves.
INSPECT AIR LINES AND FITTINGS FOR
LEAKS
NOTICE
:
Even minor leaks can cause the air compressor to
overwork, resulting in premature breakdown or inadequate
performance.
□
Turn the air compressor on and allow tank
pressure to build. Motor will stop when tank
pressure reaches “cut-out” pressure.
□
Turn the air compressor Off and unplug unit.
□
Apply a soap solution to all air-line fittings and
connections/piping to look for any leaks.
□
Pull ring on safety valve allowing air to
bleed from the tank until tank pressure is
approximately 20 PSI. Release safety valve ring.
□
Drain water from air tank by opening drain valve
on bottom of tank.
□
Correct any leaks found.
TORQUING THE AIR COMPRESSOR HEAD
BOLTS
The air compressor pump head bolts should be kept
properly torqued. Check the torques of the head bolts
after the first five hours of operation.
□
Torque to 15-20 ft. -lbs (20.3 - 27.1 Nm)
Maintenance (continued)
Care and Cleaning
□
Drain the air tank of moisture after operation.
□
When not in use, store the compressor in a cool, dry place.
□
Disconnect the air hose and hang open ends down to allow any moisture to drain.
□
Protect the electrical cord and air hose from damage (such as being stepped on or run over).
