Power On and Confirm Connections
All equipment should be connected and powered before you turn on the control head. See the
MEGA Live Imaging Installation Guide
for more information.
When the control head detects the MEGA Live Imaging transducer, it will subscribe to it automatically as a sonar source. The related
views and menus will be added to the system. Use the following instructions to power on the control head and confirm the MEGA
Live Imaging transducer and the optional GPS receiver/compass (heading sensor) are detected by the unit.
CAUTION!
It is important to finish all installation connections before powering on the control head.

APEX/SOLIX Series
1. Turn on the power source from the main switch.
2. On the control head, press and hold the POWER key.
3. Select Normal mode.
HELIX Series
1. Turn on the power source from the main switch.
2. On the control head, press the POWER key.
3. When the Title screen is displayed, press the MENU key to open the Start-Up Options Menu.
4. Use the Cursor Control key to choose Normal, and press the RIGHT Cursor key to select it.

Confirm MEGA Live Connection on the Humminbird Control Head
APEX/SOLIX Series
You can confirm the MEGA Live connection by checking the system status bar. Each accessory connected to the Humminbird
control head is represented by a status icon in the system status bar.

1. Press the HOME key.
2. Review the top, right corner of the status bar.
Confirm MEGA Live is shown as Connected and In Water.
It may take up to one minute for the MEGA Live to be detected.
Unconnected:
If the MEGA Live icon is not shown in the status bar, check the cable and power connections to confirm they are
secure and powered on. Review the installation guide that was included with your MEGA Live Imaging transducer to confirm
it is installed correctly.
