6.2 Mounting of smoke detectors under exceptional
conditions
The following conditions allow the wall mounting of smoke detec-
tors in the middle of the longer room wall:

Wall mounting of a smoke detector
If mounting on the ceiling is not possible due to textile ceilings, heated
ceilings or ceilings with insufficient stability.
If mounting on the ceiling will most likely result with a higher number
of fake alarms. This only applies to rooms and corridors of ≤ 6 m² or
kitchens serving as escape routes.
Distance to ceiling:
a = 0,3 m - 0,5 m
Distance underneath:
b = 1 m
Distance sideways:
c > 0,5 m
