These large batteries give the Pendel a autonomy of approximately 40-60 km. (measured
according to ISO7176-4:2008).
The autonomy is influenced by several factors like:
Temperature:
At low temperatures the battery capacity is reduced, due to the changed chemical reaction
inside the battery.
Tyre pressure:
If the tyre pressure is low, the friction between tyre and surface is bigger. The higher
friction will reduce the autonomy.
Driving on slopes:
Driving on slopes requires more energy and has there fore an influence on the autonomy
of the Pendel FD.
Rough ground:
If the Pendel drives on rough ground, the friction between tyres and ground will be
increased. This has a negative influence on the autonomy.
Climbing kerbs:
If you climb a kerb with the Pendel the vehicle will need more power for climbing. Climbing
kerbs frequently will influence the autonomy of the Pendel.
8.6.1 Automatic parking brake batteries.
In some countries the Pendel might have two additional small batteries for the automatic
parking brake system. These batteries work as a backup battery for the automatic parking
brake system, in case the main batteries fail.
The batteries of the Pendel are very heavy and big. Therefore
changing the batteries should only be done by authorised personnel
of Huka BV or an authorised Huka dealer.
Batteries are classified as chemical waist. For this reason changing
and disposal of old batteries should only be done by personnel of an
authorised Huka dealer. They know how to handle and dispose
batteries according to the local regulations.
