At your computer, open a web browser.

In the browser address bar, enter the URL of the WMI.
The WMI login window opens.

Enter the WMI
Username

Password

(Login as a guest.)

The System Status window opens.

Scan to the bottom of the window and locate the
Device Status
and
Connection Status
parameters.

Confirm that
Device Status
is
Connected
and
Connection Status
is
Normal
or
Idle
.
This confirms that the CPE is communicating with the base station.
If
Device Status
is
Ready
,
Scanning
, or
Connecting
, then the CPE is searching for a base station. Do not
continue until
Device Status
is
Connected
. If
Device Status
is not yet
Connected
, then
Connection Status
can be
Disconnected
,
Network Search
, or
Network Entry
.

If
Device Status
does not go to
Connected
, rescan for base stations:
a.
Mouse over the
Maintenance
icon.
b.
Click
Reboot
.
c.
When the
Reboot
window opens, click
Reboot
.
d.
Wait about two minutes for the CPE to reconnect with a base station.
If
Device Status
does not go to
Connected
:
i.
Check all cables and connectors between your computer and the ODU.
ii.
At the ODU, rescan for base stations and confirm that one or more LEDs are on.
iii.
At the WMI, if
Device Status
is still not
Connected
, contact the Dealer Support Group: 1–866–841–
6004.

When
Device Status
is
Connected
and
Connection Status
is
Normal
or
Idle
, compare the channel
bandwidth of your customer’s rate plan with the bandwidth of the base station, which is indicated by the
Frequency
parameter.
For a 5MHz channel, the last three digits of
Frequency
are
500
(for example,
3520500
).
For a 10MHz channel, the last three digits of
Frequency
are
000
(for example,
3520000
).
If the channel bandwidth’s are different, contact your Dealer.
15.
Locate the
Signal Strength
and
Link Quality
parameters.
16.
At the WMI and ODU: While monitoring the
Signal Strength
and
Link Quality
levels, move the ODU to the
position that provides the best levels.
17.
Compare the
Signal Strength
and
Link Quality
levels with the minimum acceptable levels for the rate plan
to which your customer has subscribed. Remember to select the QoI table with the correct channel
bandwidth.
